I have this to cover my wood counters when baking because you have natural wood counters, flour, chocolate, coconut powder and sugar and extracts that will stain the counters if not cleaned immediately. I have this for my prep area and I can have my KitchenAid 6 Pro mixer as well as bowls and still have plenty of room to roll and four or cut biscuits (not with a sharp knife) and plenty of room. It completely covers my staging area from the front to the back of the rack. The only thing that isn't a flaw about the product given its size is that cleaning is an issue. But it's easier than trying to fix the countertop.
