Perfect for what it was designed for.

No instructions other than a small sticker on the clear packaging that says you must install the "built-in" driver before using it. What the hell does that mean? Well, as soon as you plug it into a USB port, a driver window might pop up. It is actually available through the "block" when VGA is connected. It supports both USB 2.0 and 3.0. What it doesn't say anywhere is that if you plug it into a USB 2.0 port, it only supports 800 x 600 resolution and around 16 colors. After hours of fiddling with my windows and graphics card settings, I still only have one video resolution option (800x600). Eventually I googled the converter and found a message board that says it needs to be plugged into a USB 3.0 port to get resolutions above 800x600. One day I found that I could get 1920x1080. I probably should have switched from VGA to HDMI since my laptop supports it. But still it works.

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
