It's just too expensive

So this is my first foray into cold pressed soap. This is a soap with a fresh aloe scent. A friend claimed his soap lasted almost a month - WOW! !So that's how long my bar lasted? No, not even close. I'd be happy if I could shower on a bar 20-25 times. (as described - I didn't check with a scale). Lever 2000 Bar (Cucumber & Aloe) - My Favorite Soap - 4 oz. per bar and costs a little less than $1 and I get 4-5 souls per bar. Dial Bar (Icy Aloe) weighs 4 oz. for a bar and costs over $1 a bar and I've had 8-9 showers per bar. I use a washcloth and take a shower which lasts 15-20 minutes - no it's not a spritz and spritz shower. I'm pretty dirty and sweaty from my job so this is a good workout for any soap. As much as I love the Lever 2000 product, the "new" soap formula (paper wrapper, not old cardboard) doesn't lather well. and doesn't take too long - see above. The Dial product, on the other hand, lathers very well and surprisingly holds 4 oz. Bar. This cold-pressed soap lathers slightly less than Dial soap; it lathers much better than Lever 2000 soap. My water is moderately hard so those with softer water (or good water conditioners) should have better lather. The smell of Fresh Aloe is natural and smells of "vegetation". I can describe the smell as smelling like watermelon rind as we just got through the watermelon season. The fragrance is very mild and not overpowering like most mass-produced consumer soaps. This explains the reviews mentioning that the soap doesn't smell too strong. This soap is a little moisturizing but doesn't leave a film like Dove. doesn't burn like I thought. In fact, that fresh aloe helped heal all those cuts. Bottom line, I was disappointed that the soap didn't last longer; For the price it's just too expensive to justify buying it - maybe it wouldn't be hard if I had more disposable income as the soap itself meets most of my needs. This stuff costs 4-6 times more than the Lever 2000 and Dial products I already use considering the shelf life of each type of soap! I would be willing to pay $2-$3 for a bar as a fair price, but no more than $5!
