Sturdy, strong but tighten all stainless steel screws

These are very strong and well made bonnet latches. Installation will take a little longer due to the location of the bottom nut, but that goes for any hood latches you buy. The easiest way is to remove the front grille. After that it's a lot easier. Colored instructions were included, but those who work a lot with the Jeep probably won't need them. The installation is quite easy. These latches came with stainless steel hardware and nylock nuts to ensure they wouldn't come loose. This is especially important for that bottom nut as it will be difficult to reach if you ever need to tighten it. They also came with plastic backing plates to prevent the metal from coming into contact with the paint. Another nice feature is that the latch snaps into place even when open. It can even keep the hood closed if it pops open for some reason. All I had to do was take a knife and scrape off a small amount of the plastic latch from the top so it goes through the gap. to lock the latch. You'll see what I mean when you install them. However, this was a tiny amount, and after that they snapped very tightly. I hit them lightly with my palm. Another tip: tighten all the small stainless steel screws. They send you hex keys to do this as a kit. Mine were somewhat weakened and were able to retreat. I even recommend putting some Loctite on it. Finally, there's an adjustment at the top of the latch that bolts to the hood. You may have to move it around a bit to get everything even before you tighten it.
