Review on Yokohama Geolandar I/T-S G073 215/65 R16 98Q winter by Micha R-m ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average quality of the product, especially for the money.

They gave me a replacement car LR Discovery 5 on Yokohama Geolandar I/T-S G073 tires for a week. My car has a non-studded Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV, which has been used for several seasons and is about 40-50% worn. On the replacement car, the tires are much fresher. the mileage of the car is only 16 thousand, but the impressions are not at all in favor of newer tires. Since I drive along the same route, I immediately noticed how much the quality of braking had fallen - where before I calmly braked from 60 km / h and drove up to the traffic light exactly at the stop line, then I was forced to slow down at the same speed "sneaker to the floor" and still the car rolled forward. And this is on a freshly cleaned road, where there is only a small slurry of snow with reagents! Parking in the yard - the same surprise, the usual arrival on a snowy parapet from a standard yard track on my tires did not raise any questions - the car just drove in with a slight slip. But on this rubber, I just turned around across the track, and only after a few jerks back and forth and using the off-road transmission modes did I manage to get out of an unpleasant situation. Of course, I did not conduct a controllability check, but on snow porridge the controllability is very mediocre. After a detailed inspection of the rubber, there was a feeling that Yokohama is more intended for "black" roads, because. the number of small lamellas is much less than that of the same Hakka, apparently, this explains all the disadvantages.

Pros
  • fairly quiet tires, average price tag
Cons
  • braking on a snowy road is extremely weak, patency is also so-so
