Review on 🌱 Penn-Plax Aquaponic Betta Fish Tank: Cultivating a Flourishing Habitat for Plants and Fish by Elena Bryant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice aquarium, happy fish!

I'm amazed at all the bad reviews on this tank! I've had it for almost a year, I really like it and have been thinking about buying a second one. Seems like most reviewers are saying it's too small, but c'mon guys! These fish live in cold, dull, dirty plastic containers at pet stores and supermarkets. Even a half gallon tank is an upgrade of all upgrades for these small betas. When I got mine he couldn't even swim because the container was so small. But now he can swim and has a lot of hiding places there. This is NOT unethical! Some of the reviews are downright ridiculous and say their fish died in a day? Darling, it wasn't the size of the tank, how could anyone even think of that? Research your fish - there are many factors that I didn't even consider at first. Beths need a heater because they live in the tropics and have read about the nitrogen cycle! It is very important that certain bacteria colonize it BEFORE you put the fish in the aquarium. In addition, since the aquarium is small, you must change the water at least every 1-2 weeks, otherwise your fish will become susceptible to parasites and diseases. And about the fact that "the fish can't breathe" - the plant helps to filter and circulate the air! I believe it is even mentioned in the description. I also keep some Marimo Moss Balls in my tank to help with this. All in all a great aquarium.
