Bright and pleasing to the eye

This seems like a quality made light, and I like how slim and modern it is. It took maybe 15 minutes to install and looks great. The installation doesn't use standard US mounting brackets, but that's because it doesn't have to. The installation is actually similar to a smoke detector - a plastic mounting bracket is screwed into the ceiling, then you make the wired connections, then twist the light onto the mounting bracket - and that's it, you're done.Products like this typically include screws and hardware that I consider useless and toss in the trash. But this light included some very handy speed connectors for the wiring - they sort of look like a network cable connector with 2 levers that lift up, then clamp down onto the power wiring. Both positives go into one connector, and both negatives go into a second connector. It's so much easier than the standard screw on caps that are normally used, and I like them so much, I may buy more of them just to have on hand. The light features 3 modes - warm, neutral and white. The white is too stark for me, so I set it to warm because I find it pleasing on the eye. I installed this in the kitchen and it's indeed about the equivalent to a 200w bulb. Our kitchen has never been this well lit before. Great light and highly recommended. Just keep in mind, if it ever burns out, you'll have to buy another one.

Pros
  • ‎Polycarbonate
Cons
  • Being a ceiling light, it may not offer enough illumination for those who need focused lighting for tasks such as reading or working
