Review on Sony BDP S570 Blu Ray Player Model by Marcelo Apriando

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is my first BD player.

I read many customer reviews about this BD player before spending the money to buy it myself. I have a habit of taking some reviews with a pinch of salt and there are always a few who will have bad experiences. So far I have had good experiences with this player. I'm not a video/audio guru, but I know what I like to watch and what I like to hear. The Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray Player did not disappoint. The first two Blu-rays that went into my player were 2012 and Avatar. They were both of amazing quality. (As a side note, you should also know that my HDTV is also Sony. It's a Sony Bravia KDL46EX500. Great features for the price I paid.) I had a slight downside, an annoyance, but it was worth it. a mention for those paying attention to this player. When I first started using my new player, my house was connected to Wireless-G (2.4GHz). I've had a few issues streaming my Netflix, but very rarely. It was like watching a video on the internet. A few weeks later, I decided to upgrade my system to Wireless-N (5GHz) for Internet access. I did this for my laptop, not my BD player. After installing my new Netgear RangeMax Wireless-N Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700), I found that I can use Wireless-N in my Blu-ray player! Before installing the new system, I had no idea a BD player could use Wireless-N. What a bonus! I have set up my Sony BD player to use the 5GHz network and have no more video streaming interruptions. No way! It's faster in all responses to using my Netflix. Now please don't take this as all inclusive. that all players will have problems with Wireless-G 2.4GHz, I'm not sure if that's the case. I live in "stocks”, so to speak. I've had some internet connection issues (mainly with squirrels) in the past and this may add to my experience. Just wanted to let you know that after installing Wireless-N 5GHz, this device works better than before. I definitely totally agree with my experience with this BD player. The only thing I can add is to repeat what others have said about the features and quality of this great player. It's great and worth every penny I paid for it! Can't wait for the 3D online update to see how it looks.
