I have a 2007 Ford Explorer with a 4.6 liter V8 Limited engine that has an extra transmission cooler. The lines leading to the radiator (lower tank) required this tool for proper removal. The OE adapter (Ford radiator) has large brass fittings that require this tool to pull the lines out of the fitting. You will need to do this when buying a new radiator as replacement parts come with different couplings and old brass couplings CANNOT be screwed into a new radiator. You will destroy your radiator if you do this. Hence, you must use this tool. I use 1/2" for my lines. Push pull. Push harder. Pull. And they will come out. Be careful not to damage the lines and the line end.
