Good quality needles, yarn feels and looks good and I think the pattern will look good once I can work properly with my big hands. A finer yarn is likely to be a disadvantage when you first work with it - it would probably be easier to work with something larger and learn how to work with a finer yarn. As a "first" project, this seems to be quite advanced. Without video links I would have no idea what to do. The pictures are confusing, and the descriptions seem even more so. It wasn't easy for a beginner. Even learning how to "pretend" wasn't particularly easy or good without videos. To be honest, if i had it again and spent that kind of money, i would buy some good yarn and a set of beginner needles at a local craft store and pick a beginner project on youtube. It just wasn't calibrated for a start-up project. It seemed like it was made for those who already knew what they were doing but wanted to make something simple, or someone returning to the craft.
