Review on MB Stone Care Granite Polish by Jessica Moore

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and very pleasant product!

I have a dark granite kitchen counter that is almost 5 years old. These gauges had a glossy finish when first installed. On the corner of one of these I had a few scratches from the original installation and around the outer 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the counters that get the most wear there is a very dull area I suspect based on that the harness has been pulled around the edges. Counter. There was a general dullness and lack of luster. We clean and seal these counters regularly. I have a pretty handy tool and a variable speed polisher so I decided to revise them. After a lot of research and watching online videos I bought a set of Stadea wet diamond polishing stones, MB-20 polishing cream and white Norton polishing pads which are recommended for MB-20. I started with plenty of water, 800 grit, and it easily removed the scratches on the corner. I went to 1500 grit and lots of water for the entire counter, leaving a very matte overall finish with no shine. Then with 3000 grit and lots of water to give a very low shine. Switched to the black finishing buff pad, worked with it for ages and really couldn't tell it made a difference. Switched to MB-20. Very noticeable difference in gloss when used as directed, a definite improvement but not as dramatic as the original installation. I also had a jar of a special Italian black granite wax that I bought a few years ago so I decided to give it a try. I applied the wax, going over it with thin steel wool as directed with a clean white Norton buffing pad. The glitter was just amazing! They look better than when they were originally installed. Very happy with the end result. But it took me multiple products and a lot of time and hard work to successfully polish this granite.
