Eco-friendly, easy to seal

I've switched to reusable silicone storage bags but sometimes they don't work best because they're too bulky. So I kept a small supply of traditional plastic bags for those times. Then I came across POWERTEC's reusable compostable food storage bags (25 bags). This was my first time seeing compostable zippered storage bags, so I decided to give them a try. These bags are about the size of a quart. They are not bulky like silicone bags. The material is thinner, more like a traditional zippered bag. The material looks the same as other compostable products I've used so I have to trust that they actually are compostable. Double zipper, easy to open and close. In fact, I can close them more easily than some plastic bags I've encountered, on my first try. It's also good as there is an elderly person in the house who is having trouble with some of the bags we have used in the past. You have no problem sealing these packages. There are a few things to keep in mind when working with these packages. You should not use them in the microwave. That's not a problem for me, since I don't put conventional bags in the microwave anyway. I just never felt comfortable doing it. You cannot store liquids. Well, they're compostable, so it's not a good idea. They are also not intended to be used as freezer bags. I agree as not all plastic bags are suitable as freezer bags. These bags are not very expensive, especially for a compostable product that usually costs more. I'm excited to find a product that further reduces the use of plastic bags. They keep my food fresh and seal well. I was pleased with these bags for their intended use.
