Review on Dorman 38448 Door Striker Bolt by Scott Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Minor plastic roller adjustment required (including tips for fitting together with a sagging door)

like all those 1980-x to late 90's Ford car, auto, truck etc replacement door locks that you see need take them apart and sand them down. the OD is only 1/16" of the OD or they will stick and you must be a gorilla and use both hands to open the door if used as received. The first one I bought many years ago, tried waiting for it to wear out a bit, tried graphite spray (failure, it's black and stains the paint) tried lubricating with silicone spray, etc. save time and just reduce the OD disassemble it. Use aluminium, brass or wood in sponges to avoid damaging the threads Pine lightly use emery cloth to reduce the diameter with a cloth a few strokes then rotate and repeat until you have sanded the entire outside diameter, adjust slightly, one Put a drop of lube on the latch, open and close Wipe off the excess several times Tip Paying attention to the area behind the old one will make gp/produc easier to reinstall t/B082B19CY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Door Loosen the top hinge on the sides of the door only (not the hinge behind the fender) Lower the door slightly Drill the top of the pin with a 3/8 out "bit use a punch or long screw t 1/4" - --- knock out pin remove 2 screws holding hinge from side of door, knock out bushings install new loose hinge reinstall pin in the Align holes Fit nut a alto UB Done (takes about an HOUR)

Pros

Cons
