Review on 💻 Optimized USB-C to Mini DisplayPort Adapter - Monoprice Select Series by Vincent Poolaw

The first of these Monoprice adapters initially worked, but then only when I woke up my 2018 Mac Mini from sleep. I connected the Mini to an Apple Cinema Display (not the Thunderbolt version). When my Mini was off, the boot progress bar reached about 2/3 completion and then the Cinema Display screen went black. The only way to recover the image is to physically unplug and reinsert the Monoprice adapter. I sent this Revain back and just received a replacement. At about the same point on boot when the cinema display went black, the display is now flickering. But it doesn't go black and stays black. This still bothers me and I'm wondering if it's just a matter of time before this second one stops working even in shutdown mode. It's a shame Apple doesn't make an adapter so people who buy a new 2018 Mac Mini can easily keep using their still very useful LED film displays. UPDATE: 3 hours after writing this review, the second device also didn't work when you started your Mac from shutdown. Return the second device and buy another brand with solid reviews.
