The large nut on this cartridge puller is too small to fit a Moen 122 Posi-Temp cartridge. Therefore, it cannot be leaned against a metal fitting to apply force to remove the cartridge. My old cartridge got stuck and it would help if the big nut was the right size, but it was too small. I don't know what cartridge will fit, but not the Moen 1222. Since that puller didn't work, I spent half an hour pulling with pliers and a vise to pull the cartridge out. I finally got it out by spinning the cartridge with a vise and spraying WD-40 on the edges of the cartridge where it was sticking to the plumbing. Needless to say I had to completely destroy the old cartridge to get it.
