Review on Sony ICF C153V Reception Discontinued Manufacturer by Yvonne Mok

This radio has pretty good reception. I didn't particularly orient the power cord, but it works fine in our upstairs bedroom. FM, TV and weather bands are all good. Of course we are close to the airport, where the weather station is also located. This can be a factor. My previous radio had a weekday setting. This provided an automatic shutdown for the weekend. It also had a selectable buzzer/radio for both alarms. This radio has two alarms but one is for the buzzer and the other is for waking up the radio. All the presets are really good and the digital tuner works well. We are avid baseball fans and enjoy listening to games in the evenings and music in the mornings. Unfortunately I lost all presets during the first power failure. Again, my previous bedside radio had a battery fuse. Unfortunately it had an analogue tuner which was a bit painful and caused a hum in the speaker when the radio was on. I bought this item because I expected Sony to make the user interface better than what I found when the device was in use.
