I've been using a first generation Logitech anywhere MX mouse for 9 years with a MacBook pro every day. The first mouse worked for 4 years, the second continues to work until now (pictured). Wanted to buy another one for the third time, for Macbook air. It turned out that MX's are out of production. Now release Logi MX 2s. New products should be better and better than the previous ones, this is logical. BUT, Logitech has managed to take a huge step back. At a price of 5 thousand, the new version of Anywhere looks like a cheap Chinese fake ! 1. Materials. The MX had an aluminum inlay and button in the middle, and the top plastic was durable, with a glossy finish that mimics a dark gray metallic color. It looks beautiful and stylish, but in practice it is reliable. The MX 2s has an entire body made of soft-touch plastic, which, I'm sure, will wear out in a couple of months. 2. Ergonomics. The old version of the MX had a power slider on the bottom, which slid down with a flick of the thumb. At the same time, the slider protected the mouse sensor / laser in the off position. An ingeniously simple and reliable solution. But what do we see in the MX 2s version? A small recessed switch and can only be used with a fingernail or improvised means! 3. Charge. Instead of batteries - a built-in battery. Previously, I did not think at all about the need to charge the mouse. Changed alkaline "finger" batteries every 5-6 months! And now the manufacturer hooked me on the wire. You will have to periodically charge the battery! Logitech was a technology company that made reliable, ergonomic and quality products. And now . some consumer goods. Disappointed.
