Although this device works as a beer bottle capper, I have found that this device has too much clearance in the north-south handles when capping the bottle and requires more downward pressure than I think . need if the design was better and the engineers had thought more about how the levers work. It also depends on whether the neck of the bottle has a lip below the cap. The lava lamp bottle has a short top and no bottom lip, so this will NOT work for her. The clasp is made of durable materials and works, but it definitely didn't meet my needs and didn't fit the overall design.
