EASY TO USE: First, place a crown cap on to the bottle or attach it to the built-in magnet; Center the capper onto the bottle top with the handles pulled open at an angle; Push downwards on the handles to begin to tighten the grip of the capper head; This will detach the magnet and push down on the cap while crimping the crown rim; If necessary, rotate the capper and crimp again for a tighter seal.

Powerful and durable

Like other reviewers I had to master this item but within 10-15 caps I was using it like a pro. Its "action" is quite different from the cheap plastic caps from LHS, but after getting used to it I find its mechanical execution much better. It also appears to be a lot more powerful and seems like it should last for years.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Expensive

Don't be afraid to press FIRMLY

At first I thought I had a bad block because with the same amount of force I put on the plastic cap, this metal cap would not go further than parallel. I went to Revain to give a scathing review but then read the advice in other reviews to use a lot more force than you would expect. I tried it and voila! I now have a spare cap in case my plastic cap breaks and as this one is metal I know it will probably be the last one I need to buy.

Pros
  • Good build

It's inexpensive and durable

I've had about 8 different bottle caps in my homebrewing adventures and found this to be the most difficult to manage. It gets the job done, but it forces you to preload each bottle cap into the capper, which worries me a little because I cap my bottles by placing sanitized caps on the bottles and then pushing them down with the capper. When it's in place it works fine, but I really have to manually manipulate that suction cup to make it release each bottle. It works, but it's not easy to dance

Will not work with lava lamp bottles

Although this device works as a beer bottle capper, I have found that this device has too much clearance in the north-south handles when capping the bottle and requires more downward pressure than I think . need if the design was better and the engineers had thought more about how the levers work. It also depends on whether the neck of the bottle has a lip below the cap. The lava lamp bottle has a short top and no bottom lip, so this will NOT work for her. The clasp is made of durable materials

Not functional, best in kitchen and dining room

I lost my original Italian capping machine and bought this after returning to home brewing after getting used to the fact that capping is a fairly easy one Operation is, but not so with this poorly designed, barely functional device. On the third try I managed to close one bottle easily and after a few more tries on the second bottle I gave up. The magnet barely holds the lid in place - you'll need to visually make sure you've aligned it correctly. The effort is considerable, but notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
