This was fitted to my 2003 Excursion as a spring bumper. If you have a field trip, buy a stop that has a permanent latch built into it, even if it costs more. It's a pain to install. Look at your truck, you will see that the lower rear leaf spring that the bumper attaches to has very little room above it considering the height of the bumper. Mine has 1/4" spacing on one side and 3/8" spacing on the other side with these stops on the bottom spring. You will find that they come with loose hex bolts, nuts and washers. The hex head sits in the fence on a large washer that is built into the fence. There is no way to get an allen wrench to hold the cap screw, hence no way to tighten the screw. I tried raising the truck with a high lift on the bumper to lower the axle but that didn't help much. I certainly wasn't planning on loosening the spring stack (removing the U-bolts) just to swap out the $20 set of stoppers. Since they were essentially paperweights at the time, I decided to drill a hole in the side of each stop so I could attach an Allen key, which worked but would obviously shorten the life of the stop. I'll take it as a lesson learned. OEM and some aftermarket stops included screws for a reason, partly because you install them in 10 minutes and not an hour or more. The stop itself is fine and I have other Energy Suspension products on my truck that are installed and working fine, that was the article. One more note; the instruction was literally two steps; Step 1 delete old stop, step 2 set new stop. that's all! Go online and look up the instructions for that part number, it's almost ridiculous. After getting my hands on them, I saw others had the same comment. Just say no!
