On my Toyota Corolla 09 the accessory socket would occasionally start short and eventually become unusable. It shorted out when it hit a bump or moved an auxiliary chord, and went to the radio as if it didn't recognize the chord connected to the input. When I came across this article I started looking for a replacement. It was very easy to install and I didn't have to pay anyone for it. You should be able to simply unplug the old accessory connector from the dashboard, connect the wires to the back of the new connector, and plug it back into the dashboard. It was done in a few minutes and the fork actually seems more reliable than the original. Highly recommended if you need to fix a broken auxiliary plug in your car!
