I've always thought that warmth means air pockets to retain body heat when wearing layers or a better quality material than cotton that retains heat better. So I did some research to educate myself. Now I'm more confused than ever! I'm leaving tomorrow so this needs to be done and will probably be ok in October. But this product is mainly a high quality T-shirt material. Haven't worn or washed them yet so I don't know how they fit or if they shrink in the wash. I can edit that later. For the price they should work fine for a first coat. If you live, work or play where it's very cold, you can use them until you stop. Then you will need more expensive wool bases. Have fun with it.
