Review on 🌬️ Enhance Indoor Air Quality with Filterbuy 20x30x1 Air Filter MERV 8, Pleated HVAC AC Furnace Filters – 4-Pack Silver Solution by Djmikis Parker

I bought a pack of 4 filters 20x30x1 based on the MERV rating and Revain reviews. There was some minor damage in transit. , and my filters were slightly flattened on one edge. I am not docking the product based on shipping damage and I do not believe the damage was severe enough to affect the performance of a cardboard framed product. However, the frame does not fit. The filter is about half a centimeter shorter in both dimensions. I have attached photos for illustration. For comparison - a (dirty) oven filter 20x30x1 of the same rating MERV, bought in an orange shop. The two images show the differences in both measurements between the old filter and the new FilterBuy product. While the Orangebox filter was a perfect fit, the FilterBuy filter has quite a bit of wiggle room. Although there is no visible crack after installation, I'm not sure I'll get the same performance. In the other image I've included, both filters are shown side-by-side in their entirety. You can count the number of folds around each filter yourself. The old filter still has some wrinkles. I find that for the same MERV rating, more filter media produces cleaner filtered air. You can also see that there is more cardboard to hold the media in place. What you don't see is that the old filter is also held in place better with this criss-cross cardboard pattern: I tore off the cardboard strip on the FilterBuy product and it separated slightly from the filter media. This was not the case with the old filter, I pulled much harder on the cardboard strips. I will use these filters but will not buy again. I can see the corners they are (literally) cutting to cut costs. I will continue to look for another better priced product that may have similar build quality to the Honeywell filter I bought at my local orange shop but is priced close to FilterBuy.
