The number of pleats (and surface area) is twice that of alternative materials (e.g. Honeywell MPR 9)

Filters are always a bit tight and tend to get a few dents when fitted get, and these 12x12 cost almost the same as filters more than twice as much. On the other hand, more pleats and more surface area result in better airflow and improved HVAC efficiency, and Filtrete appears to have a better filtration efficiency to flow rate ratio than alternatives.

I love these 4 packs! I signed up for a subscription so they will automatically send me 4 packs once a year. I set a reminder on my phone to change the filter every 3 months. So bam - it's easy to clean the filter without even thinking about it! They work really well too - I only have carpet in part of my basement, the rest of my house is hardwood and tile, but I have 2 cats so this filter gets a lot of dust and hair. Recommend!

A bit pricey but they are working to recoup their cost.

My air conditioner fan runs constantly. A few years ago my convection oven broke and set fire to what I was cooking. The Lackley fire was located in the furnace. The wall behind tinted and the bottoms of the cabinets above. Left a great order in the house even after taking the oven outside. Then I noticed that there were no traces of smoke in my air registers. The filter caught everything. Exchanged and after a short time the or was gone. I will not be without her.

BEST FILTERS I only use these

These filters arrived very quickly, love Revain Prime. I have been using their products for years and I depend on oxygen so I need very clean air and they are perfect. This is one of the areas of my home care that I will not compromise on. Even before I needed oxygen I only used them because they honestly suppress odors and my house NEVER smells musty. I once had a brand new house and used crappy filters at first and learned never to skimp on air filters. You pay a little more but it's worthโ€ฆ

Exact size and clearly marked filter grade. Excellent filtration, yet excellent airflow.

Filtrete filters are not the cheapest option but I buy them all. Filtrete has filters with different degrees of filtering and clear explanations of the differences in quality. If you just need to filter out dust and don't need to worry about allergens, the filter class allows you to choose a cheaper filter. On the other hand, if you are worried about allergens, bacteria and viruses, you will find the right filter. The filter tiers correspond to the price tiers, but you know what you're getting.

if you have dogs allergies. You will want it!

We have two German Shepherds and one Beagle/Hound. Daily chores include vacuuming (requires filling the trash can with dog hair twice, there should be 1/4 cup of dust on the floor). We need to change our WEEKLY. If you don't want your house smelling like a pound (your nose adjusts if your landlord, guests notice) or have sensitive sinuses/allergies like mine, you need these filters. They absorb so much from the air. DISADVANTAGE - Price. And if you have dogs like me, these filters turn blackโ€ฆ

Works the same as Filtrete 1900 and 1200; Vacuum your home more often for best results

After moving into my home 2 years ago I sealed and insulated the basement and attic followed by an energy recovery system with baseboard sealing. all exterior walls. The HVAC consultants who did the work explained that my house is now extremely "tight" meaning the ERV is bringing in fresh air and expelling stale air and the house is no longer losing air. The last thing I want to do is upset the air pressure by choosing the wrong filter after a complicated repair. So I tried the Filtrete 1500โ€ฆ
