The Dali Oberon 1 has a very good, very pleasant sound that you can listen to for a long time. Purchased based on home office reviews with an Anthem MRX 310 receiver I had on hand and an SVS SB1000 subwoofer. The benchmark for sound for me is my main system, a pair of vintage Yamaha NS-1000 speakers with a Yamaha MX-1 amplifier and two SVS SB2000 subwoofers. This system produces a very open, airy and transparent sound that I like. My goal was to get the same sound for a lot less money and take up a lot less space. In comparison, the Oberon 1 is warmer with swampy highs that aren't as open and airy as I prefer, so I brought them back. I found the B&W 607s suited me better, but they required placement work, changing the factory jumpers (they have separate connectors for the woofer and tweeter, and I found the factory jumper between those connectors degraded the sound of the driver , not directly connected to the speaker cable) and a room equalizer for a balanced sound. Some might find the 607s more intense, preferring the comfort and lightness of the Oberon 1s, which sound very good and balanced, albeit warmer and rounder straight out of the box.
