I like it and rubbing with very little mink oil the leather is very comfortable. I would say it's a 3-4 ounce leather that is soft to the touch and has good stretch. If you want durable leather, don't buy it. It makes a great sleeve for laptop/tablet cases, wallets, etc. when topped with a 4-6 ounce vegetable tan. The grit is a medium pebbly grit that you can feel, but the finish doesn't feel like plastic or wax. Therefore, using a small amount of mink oil gives a subtle shine that smoothes the contrast. The skin has no traces and is of the same thickness. Therefore, they take care to cut the skin in selected cuts in directions that prevent large variations in thickness. I would buy an entire skin of this.
