These sponges save a lot of space when not in use as opposed to regular sponges I buy at the discount store which take up a lot more storage space. running water, and after it expands, the sponge cleans up fresh stains from dishes, pots, pans, etc. quite well. I like that the sponge doesn't damage the surfaces of our kitchen utensils. However, more stubborn stains remained and I had to use a different sponge. I've used a few more sponges to clean different surfaces; The sponges removed most of the dirt/debris/stains. But on hard stains (e.g. around the toilet near the floor) the sponge didn't remove those stains. I also used a sponge to clean my car's wheels. The sponge did not remove these stains. The lips feel soft. When I'm done with them I let them air dry and they dry pretty quickly. I sniffed the sponge before using it; I didn't smell. Finally, the product description page states that these sponges ". Removes stubborn dirt quickly and easily. - this is not my experience.
