sooo many defects THIS ITEM IS NOT REPAIRABLE! IT WAS AN OLD VERSION! If it breaks you will have to buy a new one, my old Bell Airstrike pump was MUCH better. the one i had was black and gold, this one was black and silver, this change in color reflects the change in quality and is beautiful. I immediately noticed that the steering angle isn't as adjustable as it used to be. it is immobile and held in place by a large plastic rivet. It used to be threaded to allow easy access to replace O-rings. then i noticed that the end of the pump is a cross between a crimp and a thread. If you unscrew it, it's a special piston that catches on the lame compression threads when you reassemble the pump, it's not O-rings like they used to be, meaning you can't escape to a home camp or fix bare essentials for pennies and you can't keep a few spares just in case, now you have to buy a brand new pump. What if you do it will take 25 days to receive it even though they say it will ship in 2 days as it was when I ordered it. I ordered stuff from China after this order and received it before. It used to have a tough plastic outer shell and probably a machined aluminum inner tube, but now it's just a thin aluminum tube, it feels either stamped or extruded, not machined anyway. I'm sure there will be stains and dents and will prevent the pump from working properly or at all, meaning the air isn't sealing properly. The best thing about the old pump is its durability and the ease of changing the o-rings, which I've only had to do once or twice in 6+ years (more than double the 3 year warranty printed on anodized aluminum ). I doubt this item will even last twice as long as the other one. The only reason I replaced my old one is because the valve stem locking knob came loose and part of the pin was missing (my fault, not the pumps). The only improvement over the old version is that you get metal screws instead of plastic ones. This update is not worth all the other sacrifices. If I hadn't waited so long and needed a replacement pump I would have sent this junk back. The only reason I'm not giving it a star is because it uses air to meter the pump. Buying a used old version of BLACK AND GOLD from a flea market, thrift store or pawn shop is the best use of your money, even if it's the cost of a new one.
