When I ordered this I didn't know the black color is plastic. When it arrived I was very disappointed, why is my kettle made of plastic? Well I've had it for a while and tbh it doesn't matter! Plastic holds heat but doesn't conduct it! I can brew my tea, a full pot of boiling water to heat the teapot, then another pot of boiling water over loose tea leaves to brew the tea and it stays warm the whole time I drink the teapot! I can handle cups and pots without burning my hands and the cleaning is a dream. I won't risk washing it in the dishwasher so it's hot soapy water and a soft sponge. It doesn't retain the flavor of the old brewed teas I like, I can change flavors without contamination! The mugs kinda remind me of the ones in ST:TNG so I bought them. I didn't try the tea flowers that came with it, but honestly drank my Harney and Sons Earl Gray and English Breakfast tea. The teapot sits perfectly on the stand on my desk, it's small enough not to get in the way when I'm working on my diamond art or playing SWTOR. Overall, despite my initial disappointment with the product, I am very happy with the actual performance during use.
