This is a universal pulley holder. I used this on my Tacoma 3.4l 5vzfe, I made my timing belt, timing belt tensioner, crank seals, cam seals, upper and lower idler pulleys (#1 & #2), T-Stat, water pump, oil cooler gaskets, upper and lower radiator hoses, Radiator cap, 2.5 gallons of coolant. Now for the OTC 4754 review. I bought it after reading online reviews and seeing others use it at 5wf to keep the harmonic balancer in place. So I got it, used it. It worked to loosen the crank bolt but when it came time to tighten/tighten the crank bolt back to the factory torque specs of 217 ft lbs (the old factory torque spec was 184 but Toyota changed this to loosen the crank bolt and the harmonic balancer dangling) the OTC 4754 tool popped out of the harmonic balancer when I tried to tighten (tighten) the crank bolt to 217 ft-lbs. I tried several times to no avail, I pulled the torque wrench halfway out and the tool popped out again. I've found the problem is that the pins that go into the harmonic balancer and the levers that hold the pins tend to flex against the harmonic balancer. You need to make changes to this tool. First, the arms flex under load, which forces the tool out under pressure. There must be a crossbar between the straight arm and the swing arm to prevent it from bending (compressing), creating a spring action that causes it to pop out. I also think the pins should be a little 1/4 longer or a little more and also have some sort of socket to attach the pin so that it rests between the Harmonic Balancer and the arms of the instrument (but slides over the pins ). ). ) to stabilize the arms. This would help keep the instrument straight (perpendicular) to the edge of the Harmonic Balancer (front) and the vehicle frame. So after several unsuccessful attempts to tighten the crank bolt/harmonic balancer. I tried calling OTC to see if they offer another withdrawal option for this tool. I have emailed (via email) pictures of the problem but received no response to my email, no response to my call, no further action. They are real professionals. Having never received a response via email or phone call, I'm stuck. I ended up having to buy a Schley 64400 instrument specifically designed for the 5vzfe Harmonic Balancer for $75. I was able to tighten the crank bolt to factory specs of 217 ft lbs in literally 60 seconds. The tool didn't move an iota. In the beginning you should have bought a Schley 64400, "buy once, cry once" as the saying goes. Was very disappointed with OTC after spending $57 + taxes etc and they had no solution/option. So I returned this 4754 pulley retainer. I think this pulley retainer has a lot of potential and can offer a lot of repair/application options, but how could/were people use it to tighten/tighten crank bolts up to 217 feet? pound, beyond my imagination. When I tried several times and even flipped the tool, the torque load was on the straight arm and not the swing arm. I've also tried it the other way around and the swing arm takes the torque load as the crank bolt is tightened. Still failed. Not sure if OTC will read this but if they do I think there should be additional options for this pulley holder. It would be helpful to have guidance or some literature on whether to apply a load only to the straight arm and not the pivot axis or vice versa. Maybe I got it right/used it to loosen the crank bolt but used it wrong when tightening. I don't know and no one has said anything about it in my phone calls/emails etc. etc.โJosh McSweeney
