Pros: Well made, the backlight is perfect (not too bright, just the right white light) and imagine that it's for the intended purpose (motorcycle) to diffuse the light was perfect. I figured it would take more (actually three) to cover a standard 12" x 6" license plate (so I bought 4). It's nice to see that a properly sized quenching resistor is built into the product to prevent the LED from being overloaded at 12V. They will last a very long time. Cons: The title says "Chrome" and the markings in the description area say "Material: CNC Precision Stainless Steel" - Chrome is true, stainless steel is not. As you can see from the photo, there is enough surface rust, this is after 10 days. and Atlanta isn't really known for being a particularly salty environment. While it's true that some stainless alloys will rust under the right conditions (302 certainly will), don't think they're stainless since they're highly magnetic and will start to rust within a few days - why would anyone want chrome? even stainless steel plate? Also worth noting is the fact that it is a 5/16"-18 thread, not a 1/4"-20 thread. Keep this in mind if you plan on running them through an existing hole on a standard license plate (this will require you to be carefully drilled or tapped out). I assume MC records could have holes that would erase 5/16. I really do not know it. Corrosion is the main reason for the suboptimal rating.
