First of all like most people I am very concerned about the welfare of my dog and although I wouldn't say that it"comfortable" looks is a much better and safer option than some of the other items you will find there. In fact, the only problem I have is that my dog has long hair around his eyes. and it can be a little tricky to get stuck in their line of sight because of the arc. There is indeed a velvet overlay on the bow that is beautiful and thoughtful. It's a relatively easy device to use when you look at it closely. I should probably start by saying that it completely changed our hiking experience. While I used to constantly remind my dog to slow down to avoid tugging on my arm, this device solved that problem almost immediately. You really should put the nose piece on before you fasten the collar so that you don't press down on the dog's nose or throat to put it on. it will drag itself out. Also, the three different dogs I've used it on all go kind of crazy, don't quite understand what it is, and even walk a few times. In times like these, it helps to calm down a bit. If you don't have (or don't have) the time to properly walk your dog and are at the end of the leash ;-) this is for you.
