I've been using my Garmin GPS for displaying my speed without looking down at the dash, but I still had to look over to it. With this HUD (Head's Up Display) I don't need to adjust where I look because it is right in front of me. I really like that it uses a transparent piece of glass (or plastic) so that it doesn't impede the view. I also like that it shows me the vehicle voltage at a glance, because I find it useful to know this because I'm concerned about voltage while I'm towing my trailer and recharging my trailer batteries from the truck. A sudden change in voltage can indicate that I need to pull over and check my rig, and this unit makes if VERY easy to see the exact voltage that the vehicle computer is registering. There are times when the unit is temperamental and switches on and off repeatedly, which requires completely disconnecting the HUD and reconnecting (while safely parked, of course). This HUD unit has been on my dashboard and subjected to the direct sunlight for several weeks and it appears to be okay, so far, with this. I haven't done anything with the alarms, so I can't comment on those at this time.I like this HUD unit and I'm very glad that I ordered it! 5 Stars!
