It's cheap; This is possibly the only positive quality. I came across many positive reviews, but in the end I was wrong. I don't know why people liked it so much. I encountered three problems. 1) Not strong enough. Other similar products have more power. This affects how hot your drink stays. It does not work well. Maybe it would work better if you used a flat-bottomed mug, but I don't have one and like to use my good ones. 2) The paint on the plate peeled off on first use and continued to do so making it look ugly during the day. Maybe for some it doesn't matter. 3) And that was the most important thing for me. It has a fairly tight on/off switch. I kept forgetting to turn it off. It then stays hot and, in addition to wasting energy, is even a safety risk. I burned my hand on it, not realizing I hadn't turned it off. Other products either offer an automatic shut-off after a while, or they only turn on when a cup is placed on it with a simple switch on the bottom. This is much better, but costs a little more, as does a ceramic top that doesn't constantly chip the paint. I do not recommend this product. Pay a little more and get something better.
