I am basing this review on my Melitta pour-over cone and filter; the one which prompted the request for a review was mylady's stocking, which is identical. Simply put, it's wonderful! Easy to use, easy to clean (can be washed in the dishwasher or just rinsed with hot water) and it makes great coffee. I have several manual and automatic coffee makers, grind my own beans and make a lot of coffee; but sometimes i just want one cup at a time. I imagine Keurig would do that for me, but why bother when the Melitta system allows me to fine-tune the blend and strength to my liking? Heat water in a saucepan or kettle (or a Pyrex measuring cup in the microwave), then pour it through the filter into the ground coffee. Then dispose of the filter, rinse the cone, done. I've been using Melitta for several years and I'm very satisfied. Bonus: If, like me, you love iced coffee and don't want to mess with a dedicated cold brew machine, just make it in a screw. Jar with lid and filter by Melitta, insist after 12-24 hours in the refrigerator. I do it A LOT. Will Milady find her new Melitta as useful as I do? Probably not, at least not at first. But she lives alone and rarely drinks more than a few cups of coffee a day; after i told her about mine she thought maybe it would be better than using her drip for such small batches.
