Some helpful tips for great results!

I've seen some negative reviews on this form saying it doesn't work so I was nervous about trying it. But I just liked the idea of having ice cream in the shape of a skull, so I went for it. I'm SOOO glad I did! The ice is exactly as expected, but there are a few tricks to getting it right. Admittedly, I just played through all the tracks (including the ones the company emailed) for the first time, and my results were far from brilliant. Tons of ice between sections render the skulls useless. But it was MY mistake. After I read the instructions carefully again, I took the following steps on the second attempt: 1. The molds had already been washed, if not, wash them by hand beforehand. 2. Fill the bottom of the mold with filtered or boiled distilled water (chilled). 3. Place the mold filled with water in the sink, carefully place it on top and let excess water drain off the sides. 4. Make sure that you press the middle between the skulls evenly so that as little ice as possible can form here. 5. The most important step is to weight down the center of the mold (as shown in the photos, I used small lunch ice packs). This allows you to create a very thin or no layer of water between the mold halves. 6. After freezing (I left mine overnight), flip the mold back and forth to break the ice. If there is a thin layer of ice in the middle, don't worry, it will crack leaving only the skulls. 7. I threw some water on the skulls to free them. And voila! Super cool ice cream skull! Photos do not convey them, the details are very clear! I used filtered water from the fridge in the photos.
