Review on High-quality Music Hall MMF-1.3 Turntable with Phono Preamp and Audio-Technica AT3600L Cartridge- A Rich Audio Experience by Sheila Gray

elegant appearance and clear sound

This is an elegant black piano with a comfortable weight. no noise Completely manual (you have to interact and pick up the needle at the beginning and end). My 30 year old automatic turntable was great but the needle lift mechanism broke and it affected the entire turntable. While I miss the auto return, it's not the end of the world. Shipping took many weeks but the distributor (AudioLab - they were AMAZING) made up for it with direct contact. Also, it was just about the time Covid hit and everyone got mixed up so here's the thing. There aren't many decent, inexpensive turntables that spin 78, which is my requirement. This is the lowest price I would consider. Those other plastic Crosley $100 bills and various fancy names are pretty much rubbish. Solid, heavy base, replaceable cartridge, 3 speeds and a clean look that won't make you look like a DJ warning poser: it's a dust bag. Though it's better to see dust than not to see it. Tip: Buy an extra bowl. You should replace the 78 cassette (not included) if you buy it for this purpose (playing family records or other old 78s). It's much easier to have it already mounted and aligned in the shell. My 78 cartridge is an Ortofon 2M 78 installed on an AudioTechnica AT-HS3. Also discover different 78 types of stylus pens. They vary in width in millimeters and you can choose a different 78 stylus depending on the age or type of your 78. I found the 2M78 to be the mid-size/widest range.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
