Review on KitchenAid KSMVSA Slicer Shredder Attachment by Cori Nance

A big improvement over the old design

Love this new design. It is much easier and faster to work with than the old version. Easier to insert and change blades without having to remove the entire attachment from the blender hub or grind your fingers. If I have the feed tube on top and a "pusher" for it and can look inside while I work, I can add and push food with one hand instead of holding the foldable pusher with one hand. Door + 1 to put food. And it works better, fewer large pieces get stuck between the blade and the inside of the holder. Cleaning has also become easier thanks to the new design, especially the blades. I rubbed the blades inside and out with a very thin coating of olive oil on a paper towel, then rubbed a few pounds of cheese over them, switched out the blades, and sliced up some potatoes. Rinse briefly with some soap and a brush and you're done! I've oiled old blades before too, but seams still seemed to stick to them, and unless I wiped them thoroughly with a towel or put them in a warm oven for a few minutes, they always got rusty spots that needed to be removed . thoroughly washed.
