Review on Attwood 14365-6: Heavy-Duty Trolling Motor Connectors - 2-Wire 8-Gauge 12V Male Plug by Peter Tennant

Contrary to the Revain packaging and description, this is a FEMALE connector. From the looks of it, Attwood just went insane marketing this product. This "engine-side" plug plugs into an Attwood 14366-6 "boat-side" receptacle that has prongs that protrude and open as soon as you lift the door (Attwood calls this equivalent receptacle "female" but it is grounded ). and a protruding hot pin - i.e. male pins). This design is insane and poses a VERY DANGEROUS electric shock and short circuit hazard. This is the opposite of how everyone else (reasonable people) makes these connections. This is obviously useless as a "plug" replacement in existing properly wired systems. However, I can keep this plug as an emergency repair option if one of my existing real outlets fails (yes, other manufacturers' equivalent MALE plugs fit directly into this Attwood "MALE" plug).
