My old toilet flap was old and wouldn't close to prevent water from flowing out of the toilet. Bought this as a replacement. This one seems to fit nicely in the old hole and helps stop the flow of water. However, the chain was so long that it could catch on the rim of the damper, causing water to flow. So I solved the problem by hooking the chain into one of the holes in the metal bar (which has 3 holes) and that fixed the problem. This dampener works great and stops water from flowing all the time.
