This works much better than the raw (unwaxed) hemp I've been using for years. The slip knots also don't stay in place until some of the wax wears off, but that's the only complaint I have. (They don't come loose or anything, they just tend to slip and don't stay taut.) It looks like polished leather strap and holds up just as well. I made a bracelet out of this cord over a year ago that I've worn every day since, and it hasn't even started to fall apart. It's faded a bit since then, but otherwise like new. The wax wears off after you wear it in the shower a few times. So if you don't need wax cord, you can always try soaking it in warm water before using.
