Worked great on our existing siding.
We used this on an existing vinyl siding to install an outlet for a landscape lighting transformer. Installation was pretty easy and simple. I deducted a star for "strength" because the outlet cover ripped before we could install it. Can't comment on waterproofing yet, but the box looks great and installation was easy.
