Works well and is charming. The only caveat is that it squirts a bit (it's not my first Moka, so I know what I'm talking about) and can wreak havoc or pour hot coffee all over you if you decide to "test" it by you open the lid. But once you've calibrated the time, you need to know how long to listen to the hiss before it actually fills up. You can turn off the heat for the last few seconds as the residual heat will take care of the rest. While the top of the lid and handle looks like wood, it's not, but the silicone keeps things cool enough that no one can tell from afar!
