This ice tray is excellent! I have a relatively small freezer in my apartment and it always seems to be as full as I can get. Regular ice cube trays are a problem because I either have to put them on top of something else or wait for them to freeze and then put something on top. So I no longer have this problem. With a lid it doesn't have to be perfectly level and there is no problem placing other things on it. The smaller size of the ice cubes makes this a valuable investment for me too. "Standard" ice trays (plain old plastic trays) have ice cubes so large that my blender has trouble crushing them to make smoothies and shakes. They are ideal because they are small enough and much easier to mix. They're also easier to measure, allowing you to follow the recipe more closely. The small size also makes this tray perfect for making gummy bears, chocolates and other treats.
