I have another backpack from the same manufacturer and I'm very glad it doesn't have a net strap. When this one arrived it turned out to have a mesh fabric. The problem with mesh webbing is that the mesh stretches with any force. So if you're carrying a heavy backpack, its total weight will be on two very thin strap edges, killing your shoulders. This backpack is good for very light items like a sweater and a sandwich and maybe a Kindle. Carrying around a textbook, large water bottle, or anything else that weighs more than a few pounds is impractical.
