They are made of softer rubber rather than the hard plastic like heavier brands. This makes them more comfortable to wear because they flex with movement, but overall they're less durable and don't protect. I'm concerned about how well the Altalok quick releases will hold up as the rubber seems to stretch under tension. They look like they might break or slip off the pins when you actually slide in. I have this suit set so I'm not worried but I think that's about all they're good for. I wouldn't expect them to last long under load in combat environments like paintball or airsoft. They're made from the same mold as most of them, though, so they certainly look good if that's all you care about. 3 stars for looks and comfort, minus 2 for durability.
