Not a bad price. Contrary to what I've read in other reviews, the tripod is actually not bad (again for the price). The tripod is metal and very stable when I put it on a stable table. Even at 75x magnification, the tripod is quite stable. The optics are mediocre at best and can't compare to a good $1,000 scope. The focus knob has quite a bit of play, but it works quite well. It seems to me that there is a significant loss of light through the optics, but in daylight it's still bright enough to be useful. That's enough for me, but I think serious amateurs should spend more money and get something better. that the phone holder is more trouble than it's worth. It's well made, but it has to be placed on the scope after focusing, which can cause it to blur. It's easier to just gently place the phone on the eyepiece and hold it. However, a phone holder is useful on its own. This allows you to attach the phone to a pole.
