Bought as a spotting scope for hunting and use on a sailboat to observe objects from a distance. The optical quality of the sight is not bad, the picture is clearer. As a budget spotting scope it's actually very good. It doesn't have a reticle, milling points, or the depth of field of some of the more expensive spotting scopes, but it does the job very well. I waited for the weekend to try it out in daylight and even on a cloudy day the clarity and sharpness of the image was superb. I bought it to use primarily for target shooting at 100-200 yards.
