IR. No pairing, but you need to point at Roku to work.
Bought because my dog ate my Roku Premiere+ remote before I could use it so he kept asking me to plug in the remote and I couldn't continue. This remote is IR and won't pair with Roku but works great. The only thing is you have to point it at Roku for it to work.
