I have a DELL IN2020MB display with a HD resolution of 1600x900. I already have a genuine Apple VGA adapter with a Thunderbolt connector that works great with my MacBook Pro. I can get the full 1600x900 resolution on my Dell display. I thought I would buy a second VGA adapter for home so I bought this 3 in 1 adapter. When I use the VGA port with the same cable and DELL IN2020MB display, the first time I connect I only get VGA -Resolution. After switching back and forth between my original Apple VGA adapter and my CableCreation adapter, I finally got a 1600 x 900 resolution on the display. I don't know if there was a bad connection on the first try. I will see if this problem occurs again. Right now my biggest concern is that the ports need to be on the opposite side of the dongle. The only Thunderbolt port on my MacBook Pro is on the left side of the laptop. This means that when the 3-in-1 adapter is connected, the VGA and HDMI ports face the front of the computer. This makes it difficult to connect the cable. I tried to find a 3-in-1 dongle that had the VGA port on the end but they didn't offer one.
